Gear you would need…

Camera – Any camera that allows you to shoot manually

This is the great part of LightPainting…You do not need the latest and greatest camera equipment to get started. All you really need is a camera that allows you to shoot manually. You can even do it with most cellphones these days.

Lights – Any light source

Godox LC500

Any light source will work. You do not need professional gear! Light sticks, flash lights, Christmas lights, fire, cellphones, light sticks, LED Bars and more…if it makes light you can use it!

My gear consist of a host of Godox products. AD200/AD400Pro Strobes, TL60 RGB Light tubes, LC500 Light bar, Fiber Optic Brushes, Laser Pointers, Projectors, Flash lights and more…But I started off with a cheap little flashlight.

Tripod

Sturdy Tripod

A sturdy tripod is a must! As you will be opening the shutter of your camera for extended periods of time, your camera cannot move at all.

Remote

If you want to composite images, you would not want to touch your camera until you are done with the shoot. Best option is to have a remote or an remote connection to your phone to trigger it.
